Hanging out at SquidU

Posted by: mosaic In: Uncategorized

Unfortunately, I’ve been a little out of it recently. Been too busy with some other stuff so I haven’t been hanging out at SquidU. In this post, I just want to encourage people to check out SquidU because it’s a great place, and I definitely learned a lot from there.

If you’re a new Squid, a quick browse through the forum can totally give you information overload. There’s so much stuff out there, and chances are, whatever question you have, it’s probably answered. Use the search feature first before starting a new thread, just in case. You’ll find lots of advice on basic how-to’s as well as tips on marketing and SEO optimization. Perhaps the coolest thing is that you’ll easily find links to great tools on the web to help make your lens a success.

I also enjoy hanging out at the Critique Me forum. Here, you can find the newest lenses. Granted, not all of them are top notch, but that’s why they are posted here! If you’re experienced, you can offer some tips as a friendly neighbor. If you’re new, don’t be afraid to ask for tips! If critiquers sound a little overcritical, trust us, we’re just trying to help you out. Of course, you don’t need to take all of our advice at once. Just do what you can handle. If you don’t get any replies to your request, don’t fret. Someone has definitely looked at the lens, they just didn’t think you had any major deficiencies. Unless you made a spam lens. Those are bad.

After hanging out in SquidU, you’ll start to notice some really helpful people. They tend to be Giants or Citizens or Angels, but there are also plenty who aren’t. Everyone is friendly, so introduce yourself! Join the conversation!

I love the forum. I can’t get over there consistently, but it’s very informative and helpful. I’m trying to participate more.
