My top two ranking lenses right now are both on computer games. One is about Spore, a game that was just recently released, and one is about Plant Tycoon, one of those casual download games you can buy. The Spore lens is ranked pretty high probably because of all the traffic it’s getting. Over 200 visitors come daily. Plant Tycoon, on the other hand, has a high lensrank most likely due to click-outs, which were determined to play a significant role in the LensRank calculation. Neither of these lenses have gotten me any affiliate income so it’s gonna be all about staying in the top tier.
Okay, now the real lens introduction. Fish Tycoon is a game very similar to Plant Tycoon. It is also a genetic puzzle game, and the point is to cross-breed your fish to find the 7 Magic Fish. It’s also a real-time game, meaning one minute of the game takes one minute of time and when you turn your computer off, the fish are still growing (be sure to keep them fed!). It can be a very addicting game, even though it doesn’t require constant attention. But, whenever you have the chance, you’ll be wanting to check on your little virtual pets.
I’ve pretty much modeled my Fish Tycoon Strategies page on my Plant Tycoon page. One section of general hints is still missing, and I’ll get to that soon. I also need to bulk up the link list. Not only that, I need to start submitting the site to various game forums and websites to try to drive traffic. However, most of the traffic to my Plant Tycoon site comes from organic search engine traffic. It took a couple of months to get to its current level, though. My Fish Tycoon lens is an experiment in trying to duplicate the success of my Plant Tycoon lens.
