I think it’s been 6 months

Posted by: mosaic In: Uncategorized

I think it’s been 6 months since I joined Squidoo. Oh wait, I just checked, and it’s been 7!

I heard about Squidoo from a New York Times article and the whole premise just intrigued me. Of course, making money online is cool, too, but I hadn’t really tried to do that before. The Squidoo platform just seemed so straightforward and easy on the eyes. Why not make just a single webpage on some small topic I enjoy? I mean, I would never build a whole site around one of these things….

I decided at the beginning that I would give Squidoo 6 solid months of effort before deciding whether to quit or not. If it didn’t make me any money, if I didn’t like the layout, if it couldn’t do things I wanted to do, if the people were mean, if if if. There were lots of things that could go wrong. But you know what? I’m still here. Actually, I like Squidoo a lot! It’s so easy to use and people are nice and people write comments and I get traffic! I love getting attention! :P So, although I’m not quitting my job to do online stuff full time yet, I’m going to stick around on Squidoo and continue building these pages one at a time. It’s so refreshing. :)

I’m pleased you are going to stick around also, but you didn’t say whether you were making any money or not LOL :)

I joined in January 2008, and although I am making some money, it’s not a significant amount unfortunately.

However, working with Squidoo has taught me a few new things, and I have found new ideas and web sites for marketing, so the potential is there for the future…
